Idea for Mandy #1

Today, Tina and I started working on ideas for her daughter, Mandy's wedding.

Mandy...let me know if you like the ideas or not!!

Dessert idea ~ Mini cupcakes with vanilla icing yellow sprinkles and blue royal icing flower. It's really supposed to be a violet. I can also do it with blue sprinkles and a yellow flower too. Next week I will do some small fondant flowers to show you!!

Below is a yellow and blue royal icing pansy. I made it just for the heck of it! It can be placed on larger cupcakes or desserts. All of these flowers can be made ahead of time and they are not hard to make!

Relief Society Birthday Dinner

Our Relief Society Birthday Dinner was about covenants this year. The program was based on the Three Dresses poem and three women spoke - one about baby blessings, one about baptism , and one about temple marriage. They thought a wedding cake would be a nice touch and asked me to make one. This is one of my favorites I found on the Internet a long time ago. It is white cake with buttercream frosting. The flowers are piped on and the ribbon and leaves are made of marshmallow fondant.

Garden Party

I did this cake for a friend's daughter who was turning two. The theme was a garden party. I thought the white picket fence turned out so cute and this was, by far, the best butterfly I have ever done. The cake was lemon flavored (my favorite) with buttercream icing and marshmallow fondant decorations.

My Birthday Blog 2009

Whoo Boy! Am I getting old!! At least I don't feel that way!! Well....sometimes I do. ha ha

Birthdays for myself aren't a big deal. I LOVE doing everyone else's, but I don't think I need a big deal made over my birthday. I do wish someones hubby would do a little something once in a while though!! If ya know what I mean!!

Early last week I received a birthday card from my Mom with a little extra sumthin', sumthin' in it. THANKS MOM!!!! Then during the week of my birthday, I received in the mail some really sweet things from my blogger friend, Shauna. She is so awesome to remember every one's birthdays on her blog and makes us all feel special and uplifted.

This is what Shauna sent me!! Cool huh?!!!

I ended up being gone all day Saturday (which was my actual birthday). Joe and I spent the day working on our business and going to a fantastic seminar. It was so worth going to!! I did do a little shopping and bought a new outfit that I could wear to church and meeting.

On Sunday, my daughter Kami did some birthday things for me!! She is such a sweetie!!

Here is Kami slaving for me! I bet she was beat by the time we all left her house!

We caught Carlee playing with the humidifier! Kami or Eric put those foam earplugs under the top part of the humidifier so it would make so much noise and the little stinker was touching them and then licking her fingers!!! She was told by her mommy to not touch it!!

This is Carlee's "UH UH" face, which means as soon as your back is turned she is going to do it anyway!!

Sometimes little angels have a devilish side!!

Here's the dinner that Kami and Tina made for me!! Lasagna, salad and Tina's homemade bread!

LOOK!!! There's some veggies on Collin's plate!!!

Eric was teasing Carlee and Larry was enjoying it.

And yes was eat very informal!! We use a special plate only for pictures!!

Tina and Grandma Brewer

Kami made these yummy lemon and blueberry tarts.

And vanilla ice cream on a bed of cookies with chocolate drizzled all over it!!

Kami also gave me these two cake pans!! I'll be trying these out soon!!!

I also received phone calls from My Mom, and my 3 sons, JoMax, Mark and Ryan!!

Kami's Birthday!!

Photobucket

Yesterday was my daughter Kami's birthday!! She had to work all day so the kids, Eric, Tina and I put together a little something for her.

Eric asked the kids to mad a big birthday sign for their mom. Of course I helped a little!!

Carlee didn't really want anything to do with it but she laid on the counter watching Collin decorate the sign.

Collin was very pleased with his artwork on the sign!

Grandma Brewer, Tina, Larry, and Joe came along to join us. For our meal we had oven fried chicken, cracked potatoes, stir fried zucchini, potato salad (grandma Brewers) and a pasta salad (Tina). Then onto the cake!

Kami requested an ice cream cake. I made it with chocolate butter cake, chocolate mint ice cream, hot fudge, cool whip (needed real whipped cream!) and chocolate flowers and butterflies. I used the chocolate shell stuff for the dots and swirls.

The kids enjoyed it!!

After we ate cake, Eric set up Kami's birthday present! He bought the Wii Fit for her!! Oh my gosh!! We just had time to put in our settings. It weighed us all less then hat we really were (or maybe our own scales are wrong!) I think I like that but I know it's not true!! It was a lot of fun and now I "have" to go to Kami's and work out everyday! Yeah right!

Anyway...I hope you enjoyed your birthday Kami!!!

Fast, Easy Cookies

The other day, I needed to make some cookies for a meeting...and I needed to make them fast! I only had an hour to make them!! Didn't have time for the butter soften, so what to do.....hummm? Oh yeah!! Cake mix cookies!! They are so fast!

Cake Mix Cookies

1 cake mix (any flavor, I used lemon)

2 eggs

1/3 cup oil

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all ingredients together. I used a cookie scoop for my cookies but you can use a rounded tablespoon size and place on cookie sheet. Bake for 8 minutes. this makes about 1 dozen medium sized cookies.

I rolled my cookie dough in some sanding sugar before I baked them.

You can experiment with different flavors. Such as:
~Chocolate cake mix with chopped walnuts
~White or yellow cake mix with chocolate chips
~Spice cake mix with raisins

Have fun playing!!

The Little Squirts

This last Saturday, Joe, Kami and her kids and I went to Pocatello to check out a bridal show, visit the boys (JoMax and Mark) and have JoMax and Liz's mushroom burgers. I should have taken pics of the burgers!! YUM!!

Carlee, Alec and Collin. Cute little squirts, aren't they!!
Instead of giving me some good pictures, they wanted to make faces!
Yeah!!!!!

I'm gonna knock you out!

Just being cute!!

Collin getting one of JoMax's tickle attacks.

Oh oh! Alec is getting a double tickle!

This is Mark!

Ummmm....yeah! What can I say!!! He won't get a makeover...even if I pay for it!! I think he's been that way for so long that he's just too chicken to change!!
