January is bridal show month for this area. On January 9th and 10th was the Southeastern Idaho Bridal Fair.
I was taught cake decorating from Amy from the Sugar Shell. We had six different cake decorators in the Sugar Shell booth this year.
Here are the two cakes that I made for the show:
This hexagon shaped cake is covered with fondant. The fondant was then given a "stucco" finish. Fondant pink pearls surround each tier with a topper made from silk Gerber daisies. The cake board is covered with black fondant and cutout fondant daises were applied. I really loved the look of this cake! It looks even better in person.
This round shaped cake is covered with fondant with fondant borders. Gum paste Calla Lilies were placed over small drapes and also used for the topper. Butterflies were then place all around the cake. The cake board was covered with fondant and imprinted with an embossing cake tool.
Below is a slide show of the other cake decorators cakes. Our booth for the Sugar Shell had Amy, Linda, Sarah, Teya, Jennifer and me. Then my friend Desi had her own booth. So you will see all of them here together. There is also a picture of a truffle bouquet that I thought was really cute! I might have to try and make one sometime!! Have fun looking!!
There will be another bridal show at the Red Lion in Idaho Falls next Saturday!! Come by and say "hi" and see our cakes!!!
